Hatshepsut sock kit - Koobi Fora merino/nylon

29.00

Egyptian blue, bright and vibrant, was the first synthetic pigment produced, and because of the nature of production, we can use technology to detect invisible traces on frescoed walls. The bright contrasting blue in this kit neatly complements the main colorway, named after the female Egyptian ruler Hatshepsut.

Koobi Fora is a blend of 75% superwash merino and 25% nylon. The merino is luxuriously soft, while the nylon adds strength to the fibers, making this yarn ideal for knitting or crocheting socks, mittens, hats, leg warmers, or any garment that will benefit from extra durability.

Main color skein: 4 ply, Fingering weight, 465 yards/ 425 meters, 100g
Contrast color: 4 ply, Fingering weight, 92 yards/ 84 meters, 20g

No two skeins are identical: if you need more than one skein for your project, it is recommended that you alternate rows to ensure more variegation and less pooling.

My yarns are dyed with professional quality acid dyes to ensure vivid colors that will last against washing and sunlight.

This listing is for a sock set: one skein of 100g and one skein of 20g contrasting color ready-to-ship yarn.

Superwash treated wool can, theoretically, be thrown in the washing machine on a cool setting. To maintain a long life for your garments however, I recommend that you hand wash your wool in cold water with as little agitation as possible. Squeeze out excess water (do not wring since this will damage the fibers and distort your garment), and roll in a towel or lay flat to dry, blocking if necessary. Store yarn as well as finished objects where they are safe from the harmful appetites of moths.
